Paintout at Brenda Kidera’s in Woodbine, MD, June 26, 2018

Brenda, with sculptor husband Ed, lives in an oasis of gardens, ponds, and fountains nestled in the woodlands, and surrounded by farms and fields. This rich offering of subjects, along with a clear blue sky summer day, was perfect for painting. The WSLP artists returned with compositions of ferns near a woodland creek, water lilies, trees, farmhouses, and potted plants and a chair on the patio. During the critique, a green frog offered occasional comments and birds flitted in the dappled light.

Lunch included chicken salad, tortellini salad, and Brenda’s signature homemade molasses bread, warm and redolent of sweet spice.

Sadly, Brenda was unable to join us due to a death in her family, but Ed generously hosted us.

In attendance were: Mary Kokoski, Barry Lindley, Barbara Nuss, Trisha Adams, Mimi Hegler, Bill Schmidt, Mike McSorley, and James Vissari (guest).
