October 26th, Swain's Lock

The Oct’26 WSLP paint out took place at Swain’s Lock on the C and O Canal. It promised to be a beautiful morning to paint; unfortunately the parking lot at Swain’s Lock was closed off due to construction with very limited parking on the entrance road (ah the joys of plein air painting). This undoubtedly explains why there were only four participants to what is normally a very popular place to paint.. Mist shrouded the river when we first arrived but soon burned off as the sun climbed higher. Bright blue skies with temps in the mid 60’s couldn’t be better. Bob Thoren chose to setup alongside the river, the others were up on or close by the bike path. We broke off painting at noon for a critique.
