April Mid-Week Paint Out, Great Falls, VA

Thursday, April 5, 2017, Great Falls, VA 'Bois Dore' private property WSLP paintout

After rescheduling the paint out due to a freak spring snowstorm, we were treated to blooming cherry trees, daffodils and a stunning leafless view of the Potomac river. Generous property owners allowed the artists to wander the gardens and the many terraces, gazebos and sweeping lawn to capture the best vista. Some artists elected to paint the French style pastel pink house, which we all agreed reminded us of Giverny. A lovely breakfast was served on the terrace with hot coffee and tea to ward off the spring chill (the day started at 33 degrees!), thankfully the sun kept peeking out and was out for the critique at noon when temperatures were much nicer at 50!
