Carole McClees (sponsored by Jean Jaecks)and her husband Jock, Betty Huang, Hiu Lai and myself (John Eiseman) painted and fellowshipped around the pond at the Nature center. This area of the park provides a boardwalk path to stand on, away from bugs and also providing some shade. It was a hot and muggy morning, but much fun had by all. We then met for discussion and critique at the main area around the benches and shade. We were small in number but mighty in encouragement and enthusiasm.

Kenilworth Park & Aquatic Gardens is a favorite plein air location for our group. The day was sunny and the lotus flowers were starting to bloom. Most found shady spots to tackled these other-worldly plants. Some took the challenge by painting the lotus head on; while others looked across the big pond to the distant lotus. The lotus leaves and violet color of the water made for a dynamic combination. What started as a mild morning became swelteringly hot. Many were happy to sit in the shade of the picnic area for the critique. In attendance were members: Vicki Blum, Ray Burns, Kim Hall, Andrei Kushnir, Chris Rapa, Barbara Nuss and Lida Stifel. Guests included: Alison Barry (not pictured);, Ann Tanous, Vicky Zhou.
