February Glen Echo Paint out

On a bright but blustery day, the intrepid artists descended on the unique site of the Glen Echo Park, in Glen Echo, MD. The WSLP artists, and invited painters who braved the chilly weather, took up strategic locations for their attacks on the scene. At noon, after kibitzing and nibbling on tidbits each painter brought for lunch, the artists lined up their creations and executed a critique.  WSLP artists were Hai-Ou Hou, Barry Lindley and Andrei Kushnir; the invited guest artists were Christina Blake, Rajendra KC, Leanne Fink and Will Schulze, who traveled all the way from Dover Delaware to take part in the campaign. After the critique, Hai-Ou and Will stayed to make more paintings; the others surrendered to the weather and retreated to their respective home quarters.

January Paint Out, Dupont CIRCLE

Only one painter braved the cold.. Pattee Hipschen!
The January 2021 paint-out was held at Dupont Circle in DC. It was 19 degrees, cold and grey! I decided to make a quick sketch of the Dupont Fountain - which was under construction repairs. I only lasted a bit over an hour and had to use some artistic license to imagine the structure without the plastic and scaffolding but got a quick 8x10 of the park.
