Ken Petrie, Mary Kokoski, Jill Basham, David Diaz (guest of Lynn Mehta) critiquing inside Chesapeake Fine Art Studio.
Sunday, February 26, 2017.
Chesapeake Fine Art Studio Stevensville, MD.
Those in attendance were Mary Kokoski, Jill Basham, Ken Petrie, Jean Briton, Harry Jaecks, Jean Brenton-Jaecks, Lynn Mehta, and guest David Diaz sponsored by Lynn Mehta.
It was a cold day and there was some wind, but it was bright and sunny. Inside looking out, Mary painted a view of the water and trees. Lynn and David set up outside looking off towards the water below the studio windows. In front of the property, Ken painted looking across a field and Jill painted from the road. Jean and Harry arrived in the early morning and painted in the nearby town of Stevensville. We enjoyed a wonderful critique inside the warmth of the studio!

Mary Kokoski, Lynn Mehta, Glenn Perry, Hai-Ou Hou
January 29, 2017
National Air & Space Museum, Washington DC
In attendance: John Bellinger, Jean Brinton-Jaecks, Web Bryant, Lisa Egeli, Yolanda Frederikse, Catherine Hillis, Hai-ou-Hou, Mary Kokoski, Lynn Mehta, JoEllen Murphy, Glen Perry. Harry Jaecks.
Over 25% of our group showed-up to draw inside and out at the National Air & Space Museum, It was chilly for January 29th in Washington but I think everyone was happy with being able to stay warm inside if they wanted to. Some people braved the chill and got some nice drawings of the trees around the Native American Museum. Lunch and critique was inside the cafe in the Native American Museum due to the better food served there.
The important fact about painting and drawing on the mall is that the parking on the mall streets open at 10. Get there by 9:20 and park, finish your coffee and you're good for the whole day. Free parking and free Museums (Saturday and Sunday only). Report by Web Bryant.

Andrew W. Mellon Memorial Fountain
November 27, 2017
National Gallery of Art, East Wing, Washington, DC
In attendance were Jean Schwartz, Web Bryant, Glenn Perry, and John Bellinger.
The last paint-out of the 2016 season was actually a sketch crawl. We had a small group braving the chilly, but sunny weather. We did three one-hour studies, then found lunch and reviewed the days work. What is interesting about this paint-out is the Andrew W. Mellon Memorial Fountain had just that week been turned on. The fountain had been off for two years. One week after our day of drawing it, it was turned off again. This time for good. The fountain will be redone at a time in the future. Art funding the way it is will not bode well for this water work. We may be the last artists to paint it. -Web Bryant
