HARPERS FERRY, WV
APRIL 27, 2008

(Photos and notes by Ed Cooper)

The weather man faithfully promised partly cloudy skies with temperatures in the upper 60's. Instead we got gray drizzle with a high of 55. Not what we had wanted. And the worst part was that some members forgot their gloves - Oh, those cold, cold hands. Who would think you would need gloves on the 27th of April. We are supposed to be well into spring.

Harpers Ferry provides a lot of interesting places for artists to paint. No wonder the Landscape Club made repeated trips there. Guest J. Dunn Rosenberg and Margaret Huddy painted along the river. Bernie Dellario and Meg Walsh sought the protection of the overhang at the Amtrak station, just in case the rains came back. Others, like Barbara Nuss, Nancy Wallace, and Ed Cooper took to the higher ground to get views of the tops of buildings and the Potomac River. We all agreed that we should come back, hopefully on a warm, sunny day.

Members and guests present: Ed Ahlstrom, Ed Cooper, Bernie Dellario, Margaret Huddy, Barbara Nuss, Meg Walsh, and guests Barry Lindley, Janice Rosenbert, and Nancy Wallace. In addition, in the spirit of the Landscape Club, three intrepid members, Yolanda Frederikse, Barbara Piegari, and Genevieve Roberts made it a two day paintout.
