  PLEIN AIR PAINTOUTS

  Fletcher's Boathouse, Washington, DC
January 30, 2011
(Report and photos by Bruce Handford)

We had a good turnout for this paintout considering the 22 degree weather early in the morning. Glenn Perry brought fire wood and started a camp fire first thing and it felt good to anyone who walked by. It started out overcast but soon the sun came out and made for great painting. Artists were inspired by the sun on the trees, water, ice and snow which created nice dramatic shadows. Later in the morning artists started shedding some of their heavy coats on this beautiful day. Lunch and a good critique followed at noon.

Members attending were Bruce Handford, Andrei Kushnir, Glenn Perry, Meg Walsh, Dan Wise, Will Williams and Hiu Lai Chong. Guests attending were Steve Moen, Hai-Ou Hou, Barry Lindley and Truman Freshour.
