  PLEIN AIR PAINTOUTS

  Waterford, VA
April 10, 2011
(Report by Bruce Handford and photos by Bruce Handford, Mark Ingraham)

The WSLP was graciously invited to the beautiful home of Ann Belland. Ann's home is the oldest building in Waterford and was built in 1762. Ann opened her home to us for the use of facilities. Lunch and critique were held on her patio. The day was overcast with a temperature around 65 degrees. I arrived around 8:30 am and found Nancy Tankersley and her husband Carl taking photos of Waterford which will be forthcoming to be included in the paintout archives. Nancy Tankersley, Ed Cooper, Bernard Dellario, Meg Walsh, Bill Schmidt and myself set up to paint in the field in front of Ann's home on Bond Street. Barbara Nuss went into the town further and Mark Ingraham and guest Jean Schwartz painted at a nearby farm. There was no rain but the damp morning and lack of sun kept the watercolor paper wet just a little too long. Lunch was at noon followed by a critique.

Members attending were Lani Browning, Howard Cohen, Edward Cooper, Bernard Dellario, Margaret Huddy, Mark Ingraham Leonard Justinian, Al Marra, Barbara Nuss, Bill Schmidt, Nancy Tankersley, Meg Walsh, Justinian Leonard and Bruce Handford. Guest attending was Jean Schwartz.
