Mimi Hegler
RESUME Mimi Hegler of Ashton, Maryland is a painter and printmaker who draws inspiration and subject matter from local scenes, rural vistas, and the farm in her own backyard. Sunlight, shadows, and riches which spring from the earth, whether strawberries, haystacks or cactus, play an important role in her work which ranges from drawing, oils, and watercolors to etchings and monotypes. Additionally she works in the ever-growing field of miniature art creating tiny etchings and monotypes. She won Best in Show for an etching at the 2002 the MPSGS International Miniature Show. One of her large ink monotypes was selected for a printmaking show at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington. She earned a BFA at the Pennsylvania State University after transferring from Ohio Wesleyan University. She has also studied at the Maryland College of Art and Design and Montgomery College. She became a member of WSLP in 2008, and is also a member of the Miniature Painters, Sculptors and Gravers Society of Washington, DC, a signature member of Miniature Artists of America, the Miniature Art Society of Florida, Rockville Art League, Printmakers Plus, the Olney Art Association, and Cider Painters of America. She is represented in the permanent collections of the Miniature Art Society of Florida, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the Corcoran Gallery of Art. |
