He works in acrylics on canvas, painting light and color with vigorous brush strokes in the style of the impressionists. Strong color, bold contrasts and a complex surface characterize his paintings. The works of Monet and Sisley and American impressionalists, such as Hassam, Twachtman and Chase have had a strong impact on his work.

A native of Maryland, and an Eastern Shore resident since 1991, Ken was a graphic artist for 20 years before returning to painting. A graduate of Kent State University with a degree in fine arts, he paints in acrylics, oils, and pastels using strong color and bold contrasts to define his subject. Monet, Sisley, and American impressionists such as Hassam, Twachtman, Chase have influenced his art. Ken is a member of the Kent Island Federation of Art, the Working Artists Forum, and the Washington Society of Landscape Painters.
