Glenn T. Perry
Email: g-perry@nga.gov Address: 202 Grove Avenue, P.O. Box 335, Washington Grove, MD 20880 Home Phone: (301) 527-1806 ARTIST'S STATEMENT I would like to convey the state of being where the act of seeing, the seen and the seer are merged, where the self and nature are experienced as a unity. Painting outdoors for me can be a meditation where my wondering mind is subsumed by the concentrated frenetic activity. I often paint subjects that are familiar to my daily travels and have struck me at some point in passing. RESUMEGlenn Perry was fortunate to have grown up in a home environment that fostered his inclination for painting that he'd had from an early age. The secondary school he attended had an extensive arts program with teachers who were professional artists. Glenn attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia, receiving a certificate in 1979. He's had work in many juried exhibits, including three consecutive showing in the Western New York Exhibit at the Albright-Knox Art gallery in Buffalo, NY. Most recently he has shown with his co-workers from National Gallery of Art's Design and Installation department at the Target Gallery of the Torpedo Art Center in Alexandria, VA. He draws often with charcoal and wax pencils and paints in oil on panels and canvas that he prepares himself. In the future he hopes to develop and better sense of composition and devote more time to larger exhibition pieces. Go to Gallery > |
