The Nature Conservancy has joined with Washington Society of Landscape Painters to interpret precious conservancy preserves in Maryland and Virginia. Many of the images are featured in the Spring 2008 Nature Conservancy magazine. Over the course of a year, Washington Society of Landscape Painters artists visited Nature Conservancy sites and sketched the preserves. The result is a body of work including plein air sketches and large studio paintings evoking the beauty of these exceptional properties.
