Artists interested in becoming members of the Society must first be sponsored by a current WSLP member and attend at least two scheduled paintouts to meet the members and enjoy the camaraderie. The two paintouts must be in the twelve months prior to applying for membership.

If the sponsor thinks the work is at an acceptable level, the sponsor will submit to a general meeting four framed representative examples of an applicant's paintings completed within the past two years along with pertinent information of his/her art background, experience, education and other art credentials.

Members will vote by closed ballot and at least 75% of the members in attendance must approve.

If elected for membership, attendance at two paint-outs a year (out of fifteen) and one meeting a year (out of four) is required for continued membership.

The membership is currently at its maximum number with forty members. Since the WSLP membership fluctuates, this situation may change at any time.
